As I said, I do not have the necessary components in order to perform the dublication, probably for the better. And, I believe, as of right now, I have the best possible reason for the duped items. Believe me or not, I am telling the truth.

Also, remember, FoW and UW have become available to anyone at pretty much any time, due to scrolls now! Thus, the price of ectos and shards will drop.

I use alt accounts. Best way to go if you already have them.

Former guild leader of mine made a killing on Diamonds. I wouldn't buy them now; you'd have had to have done so a couple of months ago.

well I doubt they would bother making lockpicks, as its prolly a hard process. The only item worthy things to copy are mostly armbraces, highest priced stackable item in gw.
doubt they would copy one crystalline that nets you like 100k+500e
when 250 armbraces sold for 90 ectos gets you 22,500 ectos.
22,500 at 4,500 per ecto is 101,250,000
while the crystalline is 100k + 4,500 x 500 = 2,350,000
both items take up only one slot... which would you rather have?

Thats the issue. Using this exploit you can duplicate everything, every stack of items, every rare crystalline etc.... If thats really true ( and many sources are confirming it, then its gg.

My friend thinks it was an exploit with the Snake that gives the Armbraces, that he gave an unlimited amount until they fixed it or something, but not to sure.

Improbable; that price crash happened right after hard mode (when bots had to switch from cranking out cash to cranking out ectos). The reconnect update is December 20, 2006 (looked it up); the Hard Mode update is April 19.

I don't think that the problem is YET as widespread as one might fear; whatever damage was done to most commodities is already priced in. However, unless the loophole is closed very, very soon we could be facing much broader problems.

Also, the weapon market should hold its integrity; as 'against' noted, you could easily trace a duped weapon by the merch value indicator.

There is nothing wrong with GW's Programming, the Snake has nothing to do with it. I already said how they did it. Try it for yourself if you don't believe me =.=

if this duping glitch is in fact true, just imagine how hectic things are at anet. with the release of gwen just around the corner, i doubt anyone at anet could have anticipated this type of a disaster.

with the limited amount of time they have, they probably cant do much to fix the problem.

if you think about it, it only really effects a very small percentage of the player population. guess my hope of someday owning that mini panda is now just a pipe dream. oh wellz...

If Diamonds are currently 6K, I bet they will more than double in price during the first few weeks of GW:EN, just like Rubies and Saphs did in NF. Rubies were as high as 14K at one point IIRC.

Depends on what they're used for; it's a large gamble as it stands. If they're needed for all/most of the prestige armor, you can expect that sort of price spike. However, it's also possible that additional rare mats will be introduced.

To be fair... the development of Guild Wars 2 comes a distant second behind sorting out a major exploit with the potential to lose them alot of players like this if its true.
