The mission begins with you and your party locked in a cell under Kournan guard. You are quickly freed and your task is to free Mirza Veldrunner, the leader of Zhed's centaur tribe. If you chase and kill the two guards walking away from your cell, one of them will drop a cell key. The mission requires that you find six of these keys, each of which opens a cell containing a captive centaur. The cell keys are dropped by Kournan Taskmasters who are spread all over the map - it is generally a good idea to collect all the keys first before releasing the captives as losing a centaur can cause the mission to bug and be unfinishable. Once all centaurs are released, you are able to mount an assault on the fort where Mirza is being held. This can be quite intimidating as the fort contains two large groups, each with its own boss - Overseer Haubeh (a Necromancer with Blood is Power) and Overseer Boktek (a Paragon with Cautery Signet).
The bonus for this mission requires locating and killing three Cruel Taskmasters who are situated in parts of the map you would not necessarily visit. Sadi-Belai (Monk, Zealous Benediction) is along the path on the eastern edge of the map, Vanahk (Necromancer, Blood is Power) is on the small island to the southeast and Suli (Dervish, Pious Renewal) is hidden behind the fortress itself.
The reward depends on the number of Cruel Overseers killed: 0 or 1 for Standard, 2 for Expert and 3 for Master.
