How to win these great products? To be eligible to win one of the Grand Prizes, we want you to submit a screenshot of your character with a short bio. Tell us about your character; background, interests, your guild, alliance. The prize is a stunning piece of artwork of your character so let's see your pride! Contest Rules & Regulations
The following are the rules and regulations for the contest. Please familiarize yourself with them before entering.
Submission
- By entering into the contest you agree to all of the terms and conditions set forth.
- Only one entry allowed per individual. Please send all entries to contest@guildwarsguru.com.
- To be eligible for the Grand Prize bundle your entry must contain a screenshot of your Guild Wars character, short biography, an e-mail address, full name AND Guild Wars Guru forum account where you can be contacted.
- All submissions must be tasteful and created by the individual.
- We reserve the right to publish your full name and forum username at our discretion.
- We reserve the right to deny any submission to the contest.
- Two (2) Grand Prize winners will receive a commissioned fully-colored Comic Style illustration with background of your Guild Wars character (retail value $250.00) from Manuel Clavel.
- The print size will vary depending on the content, and will be anywhere between 14" x 8 1/2" and 20" x 14"
- You will recieve a high resolution graphics file which you can freely use to print your commissioned artwork on any media of your choice (posters, t-shirts, caps, cups, etc).
- You will work with Manuel Clavel of RPVisions.com during the process to achieve the desired character portrait that you will receive. Below you will find the commission process as stated on the RPVisions.com website:
- Characters: RPVisions.com will need a screenshot with all important features and details on it (the attire you want to see in the artwork, weapons, auras, etc). You can of course send more to show different angles, front, back, sides, etc. I will need a detailed description with all pertinent information. Please point out any special wishes or features, such as scars, tattoos, anything that the game might not portray in the screenshot. A short character description or list of traits (heroic, arrogant, gentle and so on) will help me get a better idea of who I am dealing with and surely improve the pic.
Please consult your game's player's handbook for informations on how to take screenshots. - Creation Process: Creation Process: You will always have your say during the creation process. If you don't have a specific pose or image in mind, I will create a handful of 'suggested poses' for you to look over. You can also suggest poses of your own and I will sketch them so you can see what they could look like. After you have decided on a pose, I will start working on the more detailed penciled art, which you will review once it's finished. This is a very important stage, as any big errors or changes will need to be noted now before I move on to the ink stage. However, I won't move on until you are completely satisfied with the penciled art.
After your approval I will then ink the image, and the final inked artwork will be sent to you again for another review. Then I will do preliminary coloring so you can get an idea of what the colors will be, and again any corrections color-wise will be made at this stage. Afterwards I will complete the coloring and shading, and the final product will be sent to you for a final review and approval. Then I will package the high-resolution image and a smaller web-sized image for you to do with as you please. (This is assuming you commissioned a colored pic) - Alikeliness: Should you have a a real life exemplar for the look of your character, like an actor, singer, model or even yourself, and want your character to bear resemblance the very, please let me know about it. I will try to capture the look as well as possible.
- Duration: Depending on the amount of commissions I'm working on, the waiting time can be between 3-5 weeks. Once I have started working on your commission it usually takes around 1-2 weeks from rough sketch to finished product, depending on the complexity of the art and the swiftness of our email or IM exchanges.
- Use: The services offered by RP Visions.com are for private persons only. Every person who commissioned has limited right to reproduce each piece and can't publish it without my formal permission. This is mere act of courtesy, please just ask.
Note: Guild Wars Guru has asked for and received permission to post a sample of the final artwork of your character on the GuildWarsGuru.com website for this contest along with your name or forum name. - Re-Use: I assume the right to re-produce the final image in advertising, promotional, or commercial ventures. If you do not want your commission to be used in any kind of art book, promotion or advertisement, please expressly state so after your commission has been finished at the latest.

End of Contest
- All entries must be received by Monday, June 5th, 11:59PM Guild Wars Time. That's Pacific Standard Time or GMT-8.
- The decisions of the judges are final.
Contest Winners
- The winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 7th, 2006. They will be contacted by Inde, the Admin of GuildWarsGuru.com and will need to respond with their address and full name in order to have their prize sent to them. If you receive a request from any individual other than this please do not respond. The e-mail will be sent from webmaster@guildwarsguru.com. We will NOT ask for your Guild Wars in-game name or password. Please do not ever give out your password to anyone.
- Contest Winners will be published on the GuildWarsGuru.com website and elsewhere at the sole discretion of the admin.
- We reserve the right to postpone or delay this contest for any reason including overwhelming response or unforeseen occurrences. If there is a delay we will extend the deadline for submissions.
Legal
Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may edit and modify any submission before posting. Each Sponsor and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss or injury resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance, loss or use of any prizes awarded in this contest. You further agree that in any cause of action, Sponsor's liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the contest, and in no event shall Sponsor be liable for attorney's fees. You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. You assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property or prize, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this contest or the acceptance, loss, shipment, or use of any prize awarded. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. All of Sponsor's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the rules are final. This contest is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law.
