Fast Casting

Fast Casting reduces the casting time of every spell you cast, regardless of class. It only works on the time spent casting before the effect of a given spell goes off - every spell also has a .75 second aftereffect that is unaffected by Fast Casting. Adding the casting time to the aftereffect time gives you the total time devoted to using a given spell. The following table shows how long you'll spend casting spells of different base casting times, with various levels of Fast Casting.
The amount of time you spend casting a given spell is only half of the story. While being able to react quickly is valuable during a timing sensitive battle, there's nothing quite like the raw power that comes from just casting more raw spells than your opponent in a given timeframe. Fast Casting, as the name suggests, gives you that power. What follows is a table of how many more spells, how much more raw power you can pack into a given period of time at a given level of Fast Casting.
As a quick example - at a level 10 Fast Casting, your two second casting time spells will go off in 1.3 seconds instead of the normal 2 seconds. With the aftercast taken into account, you're devoting 2.05 seconds to your spell with Fast Casting, compared to 2.75 seconds without it. This increase in speed means that you can cram 34.4% more two second spells into a given timeframe than your opponent, effectively allowing you to cast four spells in the time that they can cast three. That is the power of Fast Casting - it allows you to always stay a step ahead of your opponent, by allowing you to not only react more quickly, but to make more moves as well.
