I would like to remind all GWGuru Auction users that both buyers and sellers have TEN (10) days to complete a transaction. Your obligation to buy/sell an item does not diminish in less time, so refusal to complete a transaction because "it's been 3 days" is a violation of the Terms and Conditions for use, and can result in the loss of your auction privileges. Negative feedback left in these instances will be removed.
For the past 2 days, our auction system has been under attack by a group of vandals who have deliberately set out to disrupt GWGuru Auctions.
Several have already been banned, but until further notice, all new registrations will require administrative approval.
For those users who have been affected by these attacks, we suggest you simply relist the items.
Individuals with information regarding who these vandals are, are encouraged to contact the Auction administrator so that further action can be taken.
Beginning on May 15th, increased enforcement of the Terms and Conditions for Use of GWGuru Auctions will be implemented in regards to Auction Content.
Auction titles are to be kept short and to the point, as specified in the T&C. This means no complete descriptions of the item. Item titles should be no more than 30 characters. Any auction found with excessively long titles will be deleted, and users who continue to post auctions in violation of this will face suspension of their auction privileges.
After working with GuildWars Guru Auctions for a long time, Dralspire officially retired on December 22nd. We will miss him!
With the popularity of Pre Searing characters, we have added a special Pre-Searing items category.
Hopefully it will make selling your Pre Searing items that much easier!
Due to the growing popularity of using Zaishen Keys as alternate currency in trades, I have added a Zaishen Key Exchange rate field that can be used like the Ecto Exchange rate field when posting items for sale.
Please let me know if you experience any problems because of this addition. THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBES THE TERMS ON WHICH GUILD WARS GURU
AUCTION OFFERS YOU ACCESS TO OUR SERVICES. Welcome to the user agreement (the
"Agreement" or "User Agreement") for Guild Wars Guru
Auction. This Agreement describes the terms and conditions applicable to your
use of our services available under the domain and sub-domains of Guild Wars
Guru Auction (the "Site") and the general principles for the websites
of our subsidiaries and affiliates. If you do not agree to be bound by the
terms and conditions of this Agreement, do not use or access our services.
You must read, agree with and accept all of the terms and
conditions contained in this User Agreement, which include those terms and
conditions expressly set out below and those incorporated by reference, before
you may become a member of Guild Wars Guru Auction.
No transactions for any physical real world items or money
may be promoted.
Selling any game account/CD key/login details is not
permitted.
No sales of builds, written game information, or any other
derivative works.
Auctions promoting in-game services must be detailed and
completed within the auction system.
In-game funds only through Gold or other in-game currency,
i.e. Ectos, Armbraces, Z-keys.
Auction length must not exceed 60 days.
Content in Your Auction State your in game name clearly.
State what time you will be available to complete the
transaction of your items in game.
You are allowed up to 4 images per auction.
Your auction title MUST NOT promote your sales above others.
As an example of what that means:
- "Awesome sword 4 sale!
- "Wicked damage bow!"
- "Best sword in the game!"
- "Godly"
Keep it simple and to the point:
- "Sword, Bow, Runes"
- "Red, Yellow, Green Dye, Axes"
Your auction must not invite buyers to contact you in any
way for the purpose of completing a transaction subject to terms differing from
the specifications in your offer.
If Your Auction(s) Violates Guidelines
If your auction is CLOSED/SUSPENDED due to a violation of
guidelines, you must wait 24-hours before creating a new one.
When your auction is over
Please contact the buyer and make arrangements to complete
the transaction.
Remember to use all available means to contact
people (Auction messaging, in-game contact,
email).
A lot of people use some type of instant messaging system
now, so check a persons profile on the www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/
to see if they have any contact info.
Obligations
As a buyer, you are obligated to complete the
transaction with the seller within 10 (ten) days of the end of an auction if
you are the highest bidder (meeting the applicable minimum bid) and your bid is
qualified by the seller as a Binding Bid (meets any set reserve price).
By bidding on an item you agree to be bound by the
conditions of sale included in the item's description so long as those
conditions of sale are not in violation of this Agreement or unlawful. Unless
you and the seller agree otherwise, you will become the item's owner upon
receipt of the item from the seller. Bids are not retractable except in
exceptional circumstances, such as: when the seller changes the item's
description after you bid; a clear typographical error is made.
As a seller, you are obligated to reserve any item
posted in the auction until the close of the auction and complete the
transaction with the buyer within 10 (ten) days of the end of an auction if the
bid equals or exceeds the bid terms set at the time the auction was created
(minimum bid/reserve price).
Artificial Accounts
Creating an artificial/dummy account for the sole purpose of
artificially inflating the price of the primary user account's auction is
PROHIBITED! You will be caught, and you WILL BE Banned.
Account Suspension
Repeated violations of these terms, including failure to
meet your obligations will result in the indefinite suspension of your auction
privileges.
We reserve the right to close or suspend an auction for any
reason we wish depending on many unlisted detailed reasons.
Fraud
Guild Wars Guru Auction may suspend or terminate your
account if we suspect that you have engaged in fraudulent activity in
connection with the Site.
Guild Wars Guru Auction is not an Auctioneer
Although we are referred to as an online auction web site,
it is important to realize that we are not a traditional
"auctioneer." Instead, the Site acts as a venue to allow anyone to
offer, sell, and buy Guild Wars items, at anytime, from anywhere, in an
auction-style pricing format commonly referred to as "online
auctions" or "auctions." We are not involved in the actual
transaction between buyers and sellers. As a result, we have no control over
the quality or legality of the items advertised, the truth or accuracy of the
listings, the ability of sellers to sell items or the ability of buyers to pay
for items. We cannot ensure that a buyer or seller will actually complete a
transaction.
Release
Because we are a venue, in the event that you have a dispute
with one or more users, you release Guild Wars Guru Auction from claims,
demands and damages of every kind and nature, known and unknown, suspected and
unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, arising out of or in any way connected
with such disputes.
Information Control
We do not control the information provided by other users
that is made available through our system. You may find other user's
information to be offensive, harmful, inaccurate, or deceptive. Please use
caution, common sense, and practice safe trading when using the Site. Please note
that there are also risks of dealing with underage persons or people acting
under false pretense. Additionally, there may also be risks dealing with
international trade and foreign nationals. By using this Site, you agree to
accept such risks and Guild Wars Guru Auction is not responsible for the acts
or omissions of users on the Site.
The broken images are caused by a server balance issue that we have been unable to fix. Here is a solution. Below the space where you would normally upload a
picture from your computer, there is a box for a URL instead. If you go
to the wiki page, or wherever on the internet you may have uploaded
pictures (photobucket or imageshack for examples) and copy the URL of
that page or image into that box and click on Upload image, it doesn't
actually upload the image to the server, it just directs it to that
image. The image will now show up as a thumbnail in the auction. If you
have multiple images you wish to display, you just have to repeat the
process. You are allowed 4 images. These types of images do not break,
because they don't affect the load balance on the Guru servers.More details about this problem can be found on our feedback forum at: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10233878&page=2 This is a known problem with the default bid increment table. The only way it can be avoided currently is for sellers to set a custom bid increment when creating their auction, so sellers... be aware!
Do to the frequency of vandalism and fake bidders we have implemented a change to the registration process. A valid email address has always been required by the Terms and Conditions for use, and now you will need to confirm your email prior to your auction account becoming active after registration.
If you do not receive an email confirming your registration, you will need to make sure that Guild Wars Guru (wynthyst@guildwarsguru.net) is not being blacklisted as spam.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our new users.
If you have a question about GWGuru Auctions try the Auction Feedback forum! http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=270Many auction users are there and your question may have already been asked and answered! No pre-sales of items is allowed. All items posted for sale in the auction must be currently available in game. Any auctions for items not yet available in game will be deleted without notice, regardless of the number of bids they may have received.
This is a reminder to both buyers and sellers of your obligations as outlined in the Terms and Conditions for use of GWGuru Auctions.
As a buyer, you are obligated to complete the transaction
with the seller if you are the highest bidder at the end of an auction
(meeting the applicable minimum bid) and your bid is qualified by the
seller as a Binding Bid.
By bidding on an item you agree to be
bound by the conditions of sale included in the item's description so
long as those conditions of sale are not in violation of this Agreement
or unlawful. Unless you and the seller agree otherwise, you will become
the item's owner upon receipt of the item from the seller. Bids are not
retractable except in exceptional circumstances, such as: when the
seller changes the item's description after you bid; a clear
typographical error is made.
As a seller, you are obligated to
complete the transaction with the buyer at the end of an auction if the
bid equals or exceeds the reserve price.
For everyone that is confused by the proxy bidding system on GWG Auctions, here is a brief explanation of how it works.
When you find an item you wish to bid on, you have the choice of placing just the minimum bid, or placing a proxy bid.
A proxy bid is the highest amount that you are willing to pay for an item. The system compares the current minimum bid with your proxy bid, and uses the next highest increment that will place you in the winning position. You don't have to pay the highest amount you bid, only as high as it takes to keep you in the winning position.
If a previous bidder has placed a proxy bid on an item, the system compares your bid with theirs, and takes whatever is the highest. This is NOT a bidding bot. The new bid will appear instantaneously in the bid history.
Any proxy bid that is placed has the potential to reach the maximum amount bid if there is another bidder willing to also pay that amount. So please, only bid the maximum that you are actually willing to pay. There will be no negotiations with the seller for a lower price because of the proxy bidding system, and bidders refusing to honor proxy bids face negative feedback and or reports of abuse.
In an effort to make the auction system more user-friendly, we are implementing changes to the category structure.
In a first step, we are removing the 7 req., 8 req., 9 req., 10 req., 11 req., 12 req., 13 req., Other req. subcategories. These have been moved to radio buttons that may be selected on the following page during the listing process:
This ensures that you can select a certain requirement for your searches:
Feel free to comment on the change here. If you are struggling to sell at Guild Wars Guru Auctions or are simply striving to make better trades, you do not want to miss the common sense guide to successful auctioning by our auction moderator Wynthyst. Click here to read the guide and make 2008 a successful year for your trades at Guild Wars Guru Auctions. Hello all, Please note that we are required to suspend any accounts with e-mail addresses that bounce. Obviously we are unable to even notify affected accounts as the e-mails sent to the address are returned. Thank you for your understanding in that matter. Have a happy day, Dralspire :-) I haven't announced the opening of the auctions yet but they are open. We are trying to get through some debugging today as some things can't be tested except to open it up and see what happens with load and any errors that require more users. If you see any errors please post in our forums here:
